Project Background

As a premier tourism route, “Chuanjiu Road” is a post-disaster reconstruction highway that has received high priority from the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the Sichuan Provincial Government, and serves as a model demonstration project developed by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Transport. Following the completion of the Chuanjiu Road construction, this project aims to enhance and support the road’s overall operations through intelligent control and management, smart information services, and other measures, with the goal of making travel more convenient, operations and management more efficient, and decision-making and governance more data-driven. In doing so, it seeks to advance the digitalization of transportation services, infrastructure, and decision-making and monitoring on Chuanjiu Road.

Solution

• Establish a multi-dimensional, three-dimensional road perception system. By seamlessly integrating and mutually reinforcing video surveillance, data collection on the condition of high-risk slopes and bridges, tunnel monitoring, traffic volume detection, meteorological monitoring, and data exchange and collaboration, a robust perception foundation is laid for this project.

• Develop an omnichannel smart service system. Leveraging a wide range of data—including traffic flow information for Chuanjiu Road, meteorological alerts and forecasts, road-icing warnings, incident and response updates, visitor-flow data for scenic areas such as Jiuzhaigou, and driving guidance information—this system will be designed to address the time-sensitive nature and region-specific characteristics of incident-related information, thereby delivering comprehensive, omnichannel smart services that enhance travel safety and integrate transportation with tourism.

• Develop an efficient, shared, and collaborative smart highway integrated management platform. Leveraging data analytics and mining, the platform will integrate multi-source data, conduct future operational trend analysis and anomaly early warning, assess road capacity, and perform statistical analysis of traffic accidents, thereby providing decision support for the comprehensive management of Chuanjiu Road and enabling integrated management of operations, maintenance, and operational monitoring.
