Cultivating and developing a large contingent of high-caliber personnel who possess both moral integrity and outstanding competence is a long-term strategic priority for the country and the nation. On the new journey ahead, talent work and the New-Era Strategy for Building a Country Strong in Talent have been elevated to an even more prominent position, providing powerful impetus and strategic guidance for ushering in a new phase in China’s talent development.

Strengthening Talent Support for Modernization

Talent is the core of innovation, the key to development, and the foundation of a strong nation. Since the advent of the new era, China has accomplished the historic tasks of eradicating poverty and building a moderately prosperous society in all respects; its economic strength has achieved a historic leap, absolute poverty has been eradicated, breakthroughs have been made in several critical core technologies, and China has entered the ranks of innovative nations, embarking on a new journey to comprehensively advance the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese modernization. Talents across all sectors have played a fundamental and supportive role in these globally acclaimed major achievements. At present, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is unfolding at a rapid pace, intensifying competition among major countries in terms of overall national strength and scientific and technological prowess and making the demand for talent even more urgent. The Chinese nation is now closer than ever before in history to realizing the grand goal of national rejuvenation, and it also craves talent more than at any other time in its history.

The key to successfully advancing China’s cause lies in the Party, in people, and above all in talent. Practice has proven that a country prospers when its talent pool is strong, and a political party thrives when its talent is vibrant. Broadly uniting outstanding talent from all sectors has been an excellent tradition and invaluable experience of our Party over its century-long struggle. Without a large-scale, well-structured, and high-caliber talent pool, it is impossible to fully build a modern socialist country. On the new journey toward national rejuvenation, it is a crucial task for the Party in the new era to bring together outstanding talent from all walks of life to serve the cause of the Party and the people, comprehensively enhance the quality of independent talent cultivation, strengthen the cohesion and centripetal force of our talent pool, and attract and employ talented individuals from across the globe.
